Sealing

ImageOver the last several years, applying a sealer has become an important and necessary step in tile and stone maintenance.

The technology of sealants has greatly evolved so that reapplication may not be necessary for 15 years or more!

Sealing not only helps keep tile and stone looking like new longer, but also lessens the deterioration that happens to any surface over time.

How they work

ImageSealants insure that your surfaces will retain their great looks for years to come by providing a barrier to substances like wine, vinegar, fruit juices and soft drinks, all of which can degrade and stain the finished surface of many tile and stones.

Just thought I would let you know I was very happy with the work your guys did at our house. I know it is only a few weeks old but the quality seems to be great, the detail was excellent.

I was also very impressed with your guys, they were very professional, on time, and the final bill was under what you bid which is rare in this industry.

Why is it important to have my Tile & Grout sealed?
Sealing your tile & grout is the only way to help protect your investment from water and oil-based staining. A sealer prevents a spill from penetrating into the porous surface of the floor and gives you time to clean it up.
How does a sealer protect my stone and grout?
The penetrating sealer is absorbed into the pores of the natural stone or grout. It basically fills up the pores in the stone so that wet stains cannot get below the surface and so the soil sits on the surface until it is swept or wiped away.
How is a sealer applied?
First the floor is professionally cleaned, neutralized, and fully dried. Then, the sealer is applied and allowed to soak into the material for five to ten minutes. Finally, the excess sealer is buffed off the surface and allowed to dry.
Why is it necessary to hire a professional to apply sealer? Can't I do it myself?
Our professionals have the training, experience, tools, and a wide variety of sealer for all types of natural stone, tiles, and grout. Professional application ensures the best protection for the entire surface of the floor. Improper sealing can leave a sticky residue on the surface of the floor that is difficult, if not impossible, to remove.
What do sealers protect against?
A penetrating sealer repels water-based and oil-based liquids, prevents stains caused by most food and beverages, and protects the surface from dirt and impurities. Penetrating sealers do NOT protect the finish of natural stone from dulling or etching of the surface.
Does a sealer alter the appearance of the stone or tile?
No. Our sealers protect without changing the original color, texture, feel, or appearance of the surface. However, we also offer color-enhancing sealers for interior natural stone, marble, granite, limestone, and masonry surfaces.
Do you have different sealers to choose from?
Yes. We have a wide assortment of sealers, designed for a variety of surfaces and conditions. Some sealers are designed for interior use only, others for exterior use. Some protect against water only, others against oil and water and some are designed specifically for floors with high porosity, such as limestone or concrete. Our professionals will help you select the most suitable sealer.
How should I maintain my sealed floor?
We will provide you with a neutral PH stone cleaner at the end of the service. We offer an excellent line of suitable cleaning products through our company. It is important to use the right cleaning solution, as the wrong types can actually break down the sealer and damage the stone, tile, or grout.
Will my tile surface ever have to be professionally cleaned and sealed again?
Yes. The frequency will depend on the amount of traffic on them, frequency of spills, etc. Sealers make maintaining your surfaces much easier and more effective, but not maintenance free.
